Our management team possess a wealth of industry experience and thrive on the challenges associated with working in an ever changing environment

Our site teams understand our responsibilities to our clients and are carefully selected on the basis of both aptitude and attitude. We try to keep teams together wherever possible and are confident that they won’t let themselves, or our clients down.

We have a clearly defined recruitment policy and invest heavily in equipping and training our staff (in fact, we believe that our rope access teams are amongst the best equipped operating in the North Sea! )

Managing Director

Craig Donnelly

Managing Director Axiom NDT/Axiom Offshore Services

Craig founded  Axiom NDT Ltd back in 1985, following on from an early career with Source NDT. He is very well known within the oil and gas industry and in a career spanning upwards of twenty five years has gained a highly respected and detailed knowledge of drilling derrick / drilling package inspection procedures.
Qualifications include:

  • ASNTIII/CSWIP 3.2 Snr weld inspector
  • HNC in QA
  • MiNDT
  • MiQA

Craig was responsible for implementing Axioms quality management system in 1989 and this was formally approved by NQA in October 1995.

Onshore Key Personnel

Mark Burns

Inspection Manager, Axiom NDT

Mark has been with Axiom for over ten years and has around thirty years of experience in the non-destructive testing industry (both on and offshore). He has become a key member of the management team and as such, the focal point for onshore activities.

Previous roles have included QA/QC and vendor inspection, in addition to ‘hands-on’ site testing. Marks knowledge of in-service inspection of offshore structures and pressure systems is highly regarded within the industry.

Already holding PCN Level II certification in most inspection disciplines (MPI, DPI, UT, EC), Mark recently qualified as an API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector.

Michael Donnelly

Project Engineer, Axiom NDT

Michael joined the Axiom team in 2011 and has increased his experience and knowledge by working on major projects both on and offshore since then.

Qualifications include:

  • PCN I: ECI
  • Rope access level one

Michael has recently progressed to a Project Engineer position within the company.  His extensive hands on experience made for an easy transition into this role.

Alan Taylor

Finance Manager, Axiom Offshore Services.

Alan recently joined Axiom and runs our finance department.

Previous employment in the construction industry prepared Alan for working within this busy department.


Rachel Patton

Finance Assistant, Axiom Offshore Services.

Rachel joined Axiom in 2017 and works within our finance department.

Rachel has a BA (hons) Degree is Accounting and Finance.



Angela McBride

Finance Assistant, Axiom Offshore Services.

Angela joined Axiom in 2018 and works within our finance department.

Angela has a wealth of experience within the finance industry.

Ashleigh Forrest

Recruiter, Axiom Offshore Services

Ashleigh joined the offshore team in 2017 as a Recruiter.

Previous employment in recruitment made for a seamless transition to our offshore team.


Rick Sims

Lifting Services Manager

Rick joined the Axiom team in September 2012 and is responsible for ensuring quality control of all company activities involving lifting operations and equipment, and for  further development of Axioms lifting services department.

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, Rick is a fully qualified Lifting Equipment Engineer (LEEA Diplomas include Runways and Light Crane Structures); he is also qualified as an Instructor in various disciplines for Lifting plant & equipment.

A very strong mechanical maintenance background and a wide ‘hands on’ experience of examination of lifting machines and accessories gained worldwide, coupled with previous successful employment as a Technical Inspection and Quality Manager made Rick an ideal candidate to head up this department.

Axiom Lifting Services provide professional examination of all types of lifting plant and equipment and our aim is to keep our clients in full compliance with both LOLER and PUWER 1998.

Clare Lavelle

HR & Resourcing Manager, Axiom Offshore Services.

Clare joined Axiom in 2013 and now runs our resourcing and HR department.

Previous employment in the construction industry prepared Clare for working within this busy department.

Clare has a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies and a CIPD level 5 diploma.

Fiona Renouf



HR & Resourcing Manager, Axiom Offshore Services.

Fiona is covering for Clare whilst she is on Maternity Leave.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Fiona was previously HR Account Manager where she oversaw resourcing for a variety of different clients.
