Our management team possess a wealth of industry experience and thrive on the challenges associated with working in an ever changing environment

Our site teams understand our responsibilities to our clients and are carefully selected on the basis of both aptitude and attitude. We try to keep teams together wherever possible and are confident that they won’t let themselves, or our clients down.

We have a clearly defined recruitment policy and invest heavily in equipping and training our staff (in fact, we believe that our rope access teams are amongst the best equipped operating in the North Sea! )

Managing Director

Craig Donnelly

Managing Director Axiom NDT/Axiom Offshore Services

Craig founded  Axiom NDT Ltd back in 1985, following on from an early career with Source NDT. He is very well known within the oil and gas industry and in a career spanning upwards of twenty five years has gained a highly respected and detailed knowledge of drilling derrick / drilling package inspection procedures.
Qualifications include:

  • ASNTIII/CSWIP 3.2 Snr weld inspector
  • HNC in QA
  • MiNDT
  • MiQA

Craig was responsible for implementing Axioms quality management system in 1989 and this was formally approved by NQA in October 1995.

Onshore Key Personnel

Mark Burns

Inspection Manager, Axiom NDT

Mark has been with Axiom for over ten years and has around thirty years of experience in the non-destructive testing industry (both on and offshore). He has become a key member of the management team and as such, the focal point for onshore activities.

Previous roles have included QA/QC and vendor inspection, in addition to ‘hands-on’ site testing. Marks knowledge of in-service inspection of offshore structures and pressure systems is highly regarded within the industry.

Already holding PCN Level II certification in most inspection disciplines (MPI, DPI, UT, EC), Mark recently qualified as an API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector.

Carla Logan

Finance and Administration Manager

Carla joined Axiom in early 2010 following the retirement of Liz Stewart and has proved adept at running the busy main office.

A skilled Finance Manager and member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers , Carla previously worked as a PA at Director level and has been involved in the administrative set up of two university ‘spin out’ companies.

Offshore Key Personnel

Joel Telling

Operations Director

Originally engaged to  project manage IRATA accreditation, Joel has been working with Axiom since 2009 and joined the company as Operations Director in Spring 2012.

An IRATA Level Three Rope Access Supervisor since 2003, he specialises in the management of complex, hard to access projects. His previous experience has included:

  • Drilling derrick repair, upgrade and inspection projects throughout the UK North Sea Sector
  • Extensive offshore ladder rack replacement / cable management installation programmes in the UK Southern Sector
  • Onshore experience has included the installation of tensile fabric structures of all types (from roofs to art installations) and geotechnical inspection and stabilisation projects throughout Europe.

Jim Leckie

Stores Manager, Axiom Offshore Services

Jim joined Axiom in late 2010, and is responsible for both onshore and offshore logistics and the coordination of project documentation.

Since joining the company, Jim has passed the rigorous Competent Persons (Inspection of Work at Height PPE) course run by Lyon Equipment and is responsible for Axioms equipment and certification management system.

An earlier career in the armed forces is evident in the level of organisation that Jim brings to his role at Axiom.


Christine Lalley

Operations Support Manager, Axiom Offshore Services

Christine joined the offshore team in early 2012 as Operations Coordinator and now runs our  busy Operations Department.

Previous employment as a team coordinator for a local authority involved scheduling and financial responsibility of complex and rapidly changing workloads.

Christine has a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology and a CIPD Level 5 Diploma.

Rick Sims

Lifting Services Manager

Rick joined the Axiom team in September 2012 and is responsible for ensuring quality control of all company activities involving lifting operations and equipment, and for  further development of Axioms lifting services department.

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, Rick is a fully qualified Lifting Equipment Engineer (LEEA Diplomas include Runways and Light Crane Structures); he is also qualified as an Instructor in various disciplines for Lifting plant & equipment.

A very strong mechanical maintenance background and a wide ‘hands on’ experience of examination of lifting machines and accessories gained worldwide, coupled with previous successful employment as a Technical Inspection and Quality Manager made Rick an ideal candidate to head up this department.

Axiom Lifting Services provide professional examination of all types of lifting plant and equipment and our aim is to keep our clients in full compliance with both LOLER and PUWER 1998.

Clare Langan

Recruiter, Axiom Offshore Services.

Clare has recently joined the Axiom offshore team, dealing with the recruitment side of offshore operations.

Previous employment in the construction industry prepared Clare for working within this busy department.

Clare has a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies.
