Specialist Rope Access
Axiom Offshore Services is the specialist access division of Axiom NDT Ltd (Est. 1985), operating both on and offshore. We offer a package of rope access services designed to provide a one-stop service for clients requiring structural inspection, maintenance or upgrade of their assets.
- Rope access is a means of gaining access to locations at height or depth that would be difficult or dangerous to reach by other means.
- In its simplest form, rope access could be described as industrial abseiling and is perfectly suited to inspection, maintenance or light construction activities – either as the principal form of access or in support of other methods.
- Rope access systems are based around the principal of ‘double protection’, meaning that workers are always protected by both a primary and secondary means of suspension – safe to use and quick to install.
We offer a package of rope access services designed to provide a one-stop service for clients requiring structural inspection, maintenance or upgrade of their assets. Our safety record is exemplary and we pride ourselves in this.
Our safety record is approaching over 600 offshore rope access projects, no lost time incidents.

About Industrial Rope Access, IRATA and the Law
In effect, all work at height in the UK, including rope access, is covered by the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (as amended) otherwise known as WAHR 2005.
Although there are a (very) few exemptions, it would be fair to assume that if you are working on an industrial site within the UK, you must comply with these regulations.
Choosing Axiom, an IRATA accredited company, to carry out your rope access projects is a positive action towards meeting your Health and Safety commitments
Essentially, WAHR 2005 is a common sense piece of legislation that sets out a hierarchy of control measures for protecting people engaged in work at height (with preference being given to avoiding it altogether) and requires that when work at height is unavoidable, it is properly planned, managed and carried out by competent personnel.
